 My boyfriend and I are both 22 and have been together for seven months. We have a healthy sex life.
He can get an erection during foreplay or making out and maintain it during sex. However, I am a little worried that he might be gay or bisexual. After attending a sex party, I jokingly mentioned anal beads to him...then he took me with him to buy some. He loved them. I also sometimes play with his anus (not in a serious or sexual manner), and he gets turned on. He also has some "stereotypical" gay signs: he enjoys musicals, he doesn't like many sports, and he needs everything to be perfectly clean. He hasn't had many serious relationships, but he has been with many women sexually. I have asked him already if he might be gay or bi and he told me that the thought of being with another man made him feel extremely uncomfortable and that he was not gay. I also worry if maybe he might have some hormonal disorder or something; sometimes his voice will crack, and he can get his voice to go really high, almost like a woman! I love him and do not want my suspicions to be true, but I really need to know. What do you think?
 Many men get pleasure from having their anus stimulated so that doesn’t make him gay. Enjoying musicals and wanting a clean environment doesn’t make him gay either. What makes a man gay is that he can only become aroused by thoughts of having sex with another man. All of the other stereotypes you mentioned have nothing to do with it. There are professional athletes who are gay. There are ballet dancers who are straight. So if you believe him when he tells you that he is not aroused by men, then that’s all there is to it. These other clues are not an indication of anything other than he does not feel the need to act like a typical American male. Just remember outside of the U.S., there are millions, maybe billions, of very romantic and sexy men who do not act like an American male either.
