It is common knowledge that the first kiss with your object of affection, seals your fate as a couple. Therefore, performing an excellent kiss is high on your list of priorities.
When you are going in for the lip-lock, you must run through your checklist of “not to dos.” Do not be a sloppy kisser. Do not swallow their entire face. Then there is the list of “to dos.” Do close your eyes. Do kiss gently, but passionately.
For the inexperienced or out of practice, you may not have the “not to dos” and “to dos” down pat. Become a better kisser by reading up on the act in Nerve's Guide to Sex Etiquette for ladies and Gentleman. Here are just a few tips they recommend:
1.) Your mouth is not a jack-in-the-box, so when you open it, your tongue should not automatically pop out. When in doubt, kiss closed-mouth, opened-mouthed with no tongue or opened-mouth with just a hint of tongue.
2.) Grabbing someone’s face is romantic, so as long as you are not forcefully putting someone in a headlock, the act appears passionate.
3.) Do not lick your lips as you go in for the kiss!
