Thanksgiving is the one day of the year built around an indulgent feast. Calorie-counters can finally put their number crunching minds to rest and dig into the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, pie and every other delectable dish on the table guilt-free.

However, those of you who have been working hard to keep your sexy, slim figures for the past few weeks and don’t want to break your diet streak need not worry. There are ways to indulge in the feast without going overboard.

Here are a few helpful hints to survive the big feast:

Portion Control.
Serve yourself small portions of what you love. Rather than piling on heaping portions of all your favorites, take a few bites of everything on the table. This way, you may sample the entire feast.

One is Enough.
Try not to go back for seconds and thirds. This may sound difficult because everything is so tasty, but eat slowly and enjoy what’s on your plate. Then consider how full you really are before you reach for a second helping. If you are still hungry, load up on extra veggies.

Walk it Off.
Rather than lounging around watching football before or after the feast, take a brisk walk. This is also a great way to catch up with loved ones if you can convince someone to accompany you.

Eat your calories, don't drink them.
Everyone is well aware that alcohol equals empty calories, but another downside of the booze is that it lowers your inhibitions. This means you won't know when enough is enough.

Enjoy yourself!
