I really think you don’t have anything to worry about, except that you should use plain condoms rather than those with spermicide because the spermicide can cause irritation. The dosage of hormones in the pill has been lowered to reduce any risks, and so the protection it offers is very slightly reduced, but it’s still close to 100%. The condom is riskier, only about 88% effective, though that rate can be raised if they’re used perfectly. But if you’re using both, then your risk is very small indeed. I can’t promise you that it’s zero, because it’s not. There have been cases where two people who’ve been sterilized somehow caused an unintended pregnancy. But the odds of you getting pregnant are so low that you really don’t need to worry.
