Does The Vagina Have More Germs Than the Anus? |
|
Which area of the body carries the most germs/bacteria, the anus or the vagina? We were discussing oral and anal sex and the point was made that the vagina has many more germs and bacteria than the rectum. Is this true?
I can't tell you whether or not this is true, but I can tell you that you are asking the wrong question. I do know that our bodies are loaded with germs and most of these germs are either not harmful, or the body's white blood cells, which fight infection, can handle them. However, the germs that are in the lower intestines, while harmless there, can cause infection in the vagina. So if a penis or finger is inserted into the rectum, it must not be put into the vagina, or anywhere near the vagina, until after it has been thoroughly cleaned. Now if someone has a sexually transmitted disease, then engaging in oral sex could transmit that disease from the vagina to the mouth. But under normal conditions, oral sex is not dangerous. So while I can't tell you how many germs there are in which part of the body, in a healthy person, the germs in the rectum are more dangerous. |
