Why can't he ejaculate?

This last year, my husband has had difficulty completing the sexual act.
We have had good sex for 44 years, but now he seems not to be able to ejaculate. He can get erect, but then he goes limp. He has been checked out and they have found nothing wrong. He has tried Viagra, Cialis, etc. He rarely asks me for sex and I seem to be the one always bringing it up. I keep myself nice and try to be sexy. We are 64 and now retired. It saddens me as I miss the sex we used to have.

Drugs like Viagra can give a man the ability to have an erection, but not necessarily the desire. And his lack of desire might have nothing to do with your desirability, but could stem from other reasons.

For example, you’re both 64 and retired. Maybe he feels that his life is over because of that; that he’s no longer productive and that’s making him a bit depressed. Also, as a man ages, his orgasms aren’t as strong as they once were. That also could be making him sad, especially with regards to sex. Any type of depressed feelings could make him lose his desire. So while you’ve had him checked out physically, now it seems time to get him checked out psychologically.
