One of the most prominent symbols of the holiday season is the Christmas tree. This year marks the 66th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Boston Common. Celebrate the significance of the tree by bundling up and heading to Boston's Official Tree Lighting Ceremony this Thursday evening.
With just the flick of a switch, Mayor Menino and Santa Clause will set 80 trees aglow throughout Boston Common, The Public Garden and Commonwealth Avenue Mall. After watching the diplay, sip on a glass of eggnog and stroll around the Common to enjoy live entertainment. This year’s musical guests include the cast from “White Christmas,” the Boston Children’s Chorus, The Boston Arts Academy and more!
The event begins at 6 p.m. this Thursday, November 29. A perfect evening for snuggling up close as you watch the 45-foot white spruce light up and kick off the holiday season with your loved one.
